Hamburg

I apologize for my long silence but I have a valid justification. As it is impossible to defeat the Black Knight on the battlefield, the stressed enemy tried to kill the invincible warrior by a spell . The coward system was almost successful because the Black Knight spent 5 days in the bed with a terrible bronchitis (sept. 20 - 24) and on monday he left for Hamburg (see the picture) to attend a work meeting on the noise pollution. He came back on wednesday night tired and weak because he didn't have the time to recover the illness.
Now it's hard to go on with the marathon program because I lost 8 days of training and I cannot do the long workout very soon. Yesterday I made a test with Sir giorgio but after 52 minutes of slow running I had to stop the workout.
However I don't surrender and even if I cannot race in Montalto on sunday, I will try again to be ready for the Florence Marathon.
Have a good running week end!!!!

  4. oooh, i love northern germany. did you enjoy the conference on noise pollution? was it insightful?

I think you'll be conquering florence in no time. once you're recovered, you bounce back and you'll be surprised to find that your muscles remember. they just feel like blancmange now.

  5. The bad spell must have been very strong to fell the Black Knight. Take enough time to recover and victory will be yours again!

  7. The Black Knight must be patient. There is plenty of time. All your regular running has built a firm foundation and the evil spell will no longer mater in a short time. Do not rush the return of distance is my advice. Your enemies will be defeated.

  8. What a cowardly enemy! Doctor Dori prescribes rest for a complete recovery. Then Black Knight, you will conquer the Florence Marathon.

  10. You'll be right, it's only a scratch. Marathons have been run on much less training than what you have ahead of you.

  17. Sorry to hear you have been ill. It sucks when that happens during marathon training. For my first and only one so far I got three colds back to back near the end of my training and missed my really long runs. I was still sick the day I ran my marathon hence I paid for it dearly by finishing with a time of 8:01:34. It was pure stuborness that got me through that one.

Hope you are back to 100% soon.
