The Surgical Operation

The time has come and the Black Knight began the tests and the medical examinations to remove the prosthetis inside his left leg before the end of this year. It is another long surgical operation because the scar will be very long and in the same place of the first one. The doctor said that in the future this will be only a bad dream, but in my opinion it is again a nightmare. In this photo, by a local newspaper, you can see the press conference of yesterday where the Black Knight (on the right) announced his triathlon debut. In the meantime the Black Knight doesn’t surrender and in a total secret way, not to reveal his plans to the enemies, is preparing his first triathlon competition. Swimming and biking are good, only running is slow: between 06’00”-06’20/km (09’39”-10’11”/ml) for no more than 12 km (7,45 ml). He hopes that after the new surgical operation the things will go better.
What a pity, vacation time is only a beautiful memory and work calls! Here are other 3 pictures of the last cruise (Istanbul by night, Mykonos and Capri).

  1. Good luck with the surgery. I bet doc is right and years from now you will be so glad you did it, even though it's no fun now.

    Nice pics :)

  3. That is quite a lot of metal to have pulled out of your leg but it is good you are doing it. My brother left his metal rods in his leg and now, years later, they hurt him. So I'm with Jeanne - surgery is bad but triathlon is great!

I'm also with the doctor - some day this will all be just a bad memory.

  5. listen to 21C mamma. i am convinced that something (nerves?) go over my screws or plate that makes my hip give out or give me a jolt of pain.

i'm still testing things, but if i could take them out, i would.

i'm glad you're thinking about attacking from the sea and mountains. by running over flat fields, the army is predictable.

  6. Great blog. Thanks for the visit. Good luck on a quick recovery. The surgery just like the vacation will be just a memory....of a different category!

  7. That looks like a secret lance down your left leg there, BK. Good luck for the surgery.

I love the sarcastic wit with which your write your posts. The press conference pic is hilarious. (to me, anyway)

  8. Ah, the Black Knight is going over to the dark side--triathlons! I have no doubt you will conquer those battles, as you will the surgical battle.

  11. If the surgery helps you return to a better life, then it's all good.

Oh, and I have not forgotten about the book. I'm reading it slowly to digest all the great nuggets of wisdom before passing it on like you did.

    Onward, soldier.

  13. That is clever, to put the new scar in the same place as the old scar so no one can see whether you are wounded or not. Nice reconnaisance from the water too, we will study the photographs. By the time you have re-gained full strength we expect to have a new C-I-C installed here in Washington, and not one who thinks the enemies will fear someone who has merely glimpsed Siberia from afar (you can see Russia from Alaska, Charlie)!

  14. I hope the surgery is successful and the leg better than new when it's done!

Good idea to do triathlon; that will certainly surprise the enemies and we can attack by sea :)
