The Delay

The surgery, expected on 31st october, was deferred to a later date because of a long waiting list of patients. This is a problem for me because I planned many activities basing myself on that date.
For example the Black Knight accepted the offers, after many persistent requets, to go in tour with the Nightwish and the Queen playing the keyboards (see the photos). He agreed because he wants to show to his subjects also the best part of him and not only the invincible warrior.

The training for the triathlon is going on, I swim 1500 metres easily and I can run 10/15 km. The only problem is the bike because at the moment I have a good pace for only 30 km. (18,6 ml) but here there are roads with much traffic and many uphill, so I can go only when it's possible.

  3. Gee, that many people injured they had to delay your surgery???
I had mine last week. I am used to bouncing back after harder battles a lot faster than I have now so I am disappointed.
looking forward to your post surgery report!

  5. Do you know the new date of the surgery?

I know that it is never easy to have this kind of disappointment, but I remember a thing that my mother told me many years ago.....

"That which does not kill me makes me stronger."

The Black Knight will always overcome his enemies!

  7. I hope you are able to have your surgery soon. I can't imagine how frustrating it is to have everything pushed back when you have goals you want to reach (and pain you want to vanish)!
Thanks for visiting my blog. It is nice to be reminded of Italy - I spent a semester in Cortona, which was one of the best 3 months of my life. My only regret is that I wasn't a runner then, so I didn't get to experience the beauty of Italy through a runner's eyes.

  8. bummer about the delay, but maybe that's good. what if the surgeon was possessed on halloween? what if you woke up with a pumpkin where your leg should have been?

i think you might have been rescued.

  11. Sorry your refitting takes longer than anticipated but a great leader lays deep plans. The enemy will not know if you will come across the land, by road or on the sea as you maneuver to confuse him. Meanwhile on the vast frontier, apparent civilization has taken root. A charismatic leader has emerged, but will he be a George McClellan or a George Patton? We watch & wait to see, the obstacles placed in front of him are formidable. The enemy has laid plans to retire from the capital in nine weeks in the dead of winter (1/20/09), but there is still some good campaigning weather at hand so they can still do further grievous damage. Two months is too much time to leave to the Great Bird Hunter and the Decider without watching them very closely.

  13. Oh, gosh Stephano; I stopped by to see how your recovery was going and I find your surgery was delayed. Sorry for your disappointment. Keep up the good work with your training. I'm sure it will make you even stronger for the surgery when it does happen, and will speed up your recovery.

  15. "how about a threesome?" is a good slogan for a a triathlon. I learned to ride a bike very late in life so I would not make a good triathlonist. I'll stick to running for now if the knee ever feels good again.
Hope your recovery is going well.
