Bryan Ferry

Training. On sept. 5 I will start the specific training for the Florence Marathon (nov. 27) so I have to increase the mileage till august, also doing a weekly long distance run despite the heat. In this way I will be ready to follow the appropriate program next month. Unfortunately I have problems with the pool because it opens in late morning so I can only swim, when possible, in the sea.
July in numbers. 181 km. (103.5 ml) in 16 workouts, 6000 meters swimming (4 sessions) and 2 races. Indeed poor numbers.
Bryan Ferry. Last week I went to Bolgheri (Tuscany), a beautiful town in the country, to see the Bryan Ferry's concert. As you know he is the front-man of the Roxy Music. 1h 45' of wonderful music under a sky full of stars. This was the only date in Italy this year. Great atmosphere, great band and unforgettable songs.

Question. Do you like Bryan Ferry and Roxy Music? If so, in your opinion, what is his/their best song?

  1. I always loved Bryan Ferry - he is so suave and sophisticated...
One of my favorite songs is "Don't Stop the Dance"...but there are a lot of good ones!
Good luck with the long runs in the summer heat. If you really don't want to run in the heat this month, you should come up here because it's like autumn in Belgium and doesn't look like it's going to get any better this month.

  4. Exciting that marathon training is approaching! I too am consigned to sea rather than pool for the next three weeks - the pool is closing for renovations, to my considerable irritation!

  5. Yay for marathon training! Will follow your progress closely. Beautiful photos! I absolutely love Bryan Ferry and Roxy Music! They have many songs I love. Slave to Love came to mind when I read your question.
Rugby: I feel ashamed of Springboks currently and just hope there is some plan for the world cup.

  6. Poor numbers he says :) To me that's an awesome workout month.

Bryan Ferry is such a handsome man, still is after all these years. My favorite song is Jealous guy.
Beautiful setting by the way for a concert.

Did you read on my blog I'm going to meet your old friend Mark Knofler in October? I will say to him you said Hi okay?

  19. Hooray for the Florence Marathon! I visited Florence once many years ago and remember it as a lovely city. I look forward to the pictures.

And you cannot really have rehabbed a bat, really? Is that for real?

  20. Swimming in the sea sounds like a rugged alternative to swimming in the pool! How warm is the ocean there, I wonder? Ours is about 45-50F and if anyone is brave enough he/she wears a wetsuit or quickly changes clothes. We build fires on the beach even in summer. No one swims in it just for exercise because the waves are too big and there are lots of undertow currents. The closest beach is in a small town called Winchester Bay, OR.

You are blessed to see so many great performers, and to live near such beautiful places!
