The scheduled plan

This is the second week of my marathon training. During the first one I had to rest from wednesday to saturday because of a deep pain into the knee and the neck. Now I feel better, but I need the help of the PT again: a weekly treatment on monday after the long distance run. Moreover every wednesday I have a thermal bath to relax my muscles. Here is the scheduled plan (L means monday and D sunday). In these 3 months I have included 4 races that I will do as training runs. The distances are in km; 1 mile = 1,610 km.

Here are 2 pictures of my lady cat Gioconda:

Do you like the ice cream?

Have a good running, swimming, biking, hiking week end.

  1. Ooh, having that range (15-18k) would be bad for me. Haha. I'd be all "15 it is!" :)

Glad to hear you're feeling better, and as medicine goes, thermal baths sound pretty good to me!

    Have a great week.

  2. I wish I were better at following training plans. :)
Hope your knee will get better really soon.
Thermal baths - now that is something I am sure I would love.

Never tried to feed my kitties ice cream. Maybe I am too greedy and want it all to myself.

  3. Your cat is a beauty! PT and thermal baths sound like sensible precautions. I like your training schedule - I'm having a bit of a pang that I'm not training for a fall marathon myself...

  5. anche al piano meglio congegnato può accadere l'imprevisto, il nemico è sempre in agguato! è necessario un passo in dietro per riorganizzare le schiere....

  7. I had to get my miles to KM conversion chart out but you have a great, very strong plan mapped out - that is fantastic! Hope the PT works his magic and gets you through this training feeling solid and strong!! Very excited about your training!

  8. I DON'T prefer the treadmill but I am always pleasantly surprised when it goes well. I hugely prefer running outside. I pay way too often for a gym membership I don't use enough.

  10. I am one who can relate to KM and I also write the date like you do. Here in the US they are confused and they put the month first!!! :) My Mondays are L also Lundi and my Sundays are also D, Dimanche. I hope all goes well for you. I cannot comment on marathon's plan...I have no experience in that distance..but one day I will!

  11. I had trouble working out your training plan. But decided that the longest run and your race days were probably Sunday so worked back from there. Stay pain free!

  12. Hope the PT helps tremendously!

Your cat is very fortunate to get ice cream. Does she prefer vanilla or chocolate?

Your training looks well designed for you and your prior injury situation. I like the combo of run and rest with thermal baths!

  20. I like your plan. Take the runs easy to take care of any pain. All the best with your marathon training!
Rugby: Well Springboks are doing better than I expected and actually not looking too bad. Italy is also improving I think. Lets hope things go better and better for out teams. All Blacks and Australia are the teams to beat I would say even with the Ireland win over Aus.
    Keep well Stefano!

  23. THanks for stopping by my blog! You CRACK me up with the "dreadmill" comment! Love it. It is kind of like torture.......For me....I don't do the rain. Rain is evil. When I can I run out side with my dog.
