AUGUST:
August has almost gone. In the past, on these days, I began the marathon
program: very good memories! On this photo, taken in august 2010, you
can see the B.K. and Sir Giorgio (first on the left) before a race in Ladispoli:
INJURY
UPDATE: The appointment with the orthopedic was hilarious (or tragic??) he
didn’t succeed in checking my x-ray by the pc and said: “Never mind, you are
strong (???), I know this kind of fracture, you are ok now, you can start to swim and
in october to run. By this moment no more brace”. Crazy situation! Of course I don’t trust him
and as soon as possible I will go to another doctor. However I tried to swim
but it was a nightmare: pain on my back and very difficult to push with the
legs. After 8 slow laps in 30 minutes (yes 30 minutes with a long stop after
every lap) I surrendered.
SUNFLOWERS:
Here you can see the sunflowers in my garden, in the second pic there are 2 welcome
guests among the flowers (can you see them? -click to enlarge-).
Have a good Sunday

He sounds like a witch doctor!
ReplyDeleteIt was a good (sunny) Sunday - I ran, trying to forget about the All Blacks 22, Wallabies 0 the night before :(
The appointment with that doctor = disappointing!
ReplyDeleteThe sunflower photo is amazing. Love it.
I didn't know they had lizards out your way! Cute.
Of course you have to listen another doctor ... it's better you'll begin to run in November. Anyway he is right about the strongness of the B.K. :)
ReplyDeleteHappy Sunday!
Giorgio is right about the strength of the BK! (I do think you need to see another doc, of course....) I'm sorry the swim was painful--coming back from injury is lousy.
ReplyDeleteI LOVE your little guests. Actually the whole scene with the wall and the sunflowers is beautiful.
Sorry about your orthopedic doc. He doesn't sound very good. I will pray that you find a great one!
ReplyDeleteLove the sunflowers! Sunflowers are the state flower for Kansas where I am from. I love seeing the bloom!
I'm so sorry to hear about your swim. Your doctor doesn't sound that great - I'd have thought he'd at least have to check new x-rays. Have they suggested that you do some physiotherapy to help build up your strength again?
ReplyDeleteThe sunflowers are beautiful.
Gorgeous sunflowers. Find the right doctor. It will be worth it.
ReplyDeleteHopefully you get some good news from the next doctor. I imagine it will take you some time once you start back at the swimming/running, so take it easy. All the best, hopefully you have a quick recovery.
ReplyDeleteOh dear! I suspect swimming can be modified so as to minimize pain - a pull buoy might immobilize some midsection stuff in a way that would protect your back? Or even just do high-intensity intervals kicking with board...
ReplyDeleteGood idea to find another doctor - this one didn't sound too great. Love the sunflower pictures - and the cuti little lizards!
ReplyDeleteSo glad you are making progress, but sorry that you had an unsuccessful swim. It is good you will get a second opinion.
ReplyDeleteThe lizards! We have them also, but none of the beautiful sunflowers. Ours are hiding in a wood pile.
Keep getting better, Stefano.
It sounds like you might definitely need a second opinion there! I hope you can get back in the water soon!
ReplyDeleteWow, what a scary doctor's appointment! Sorry about your first swim that didn't go so well. Give it some time - things will improve.
ReplyDeleteThe sunflowers and little visitors are so beautiful!
Beautiful sunflowers...and my boys would LOVE the lizards!!!
ReplyDeleteSounds like a crazy doctor...but you are smart to listen to your body and you know best!!
Glad to see you up and at it though ;) We've missed you!
Find another doctor quickly!!! Rest up and take care of yourself'
ReplyDeleteLove the sunflowers and the salamanders or lizards (whatever they are).
Progress in motion....
ReplyDeleteThank you for the update. I've been thinking about you and hoping that you are doing okay. I'm sorry that it hurt to swim. Sounds like you need to get another opinion. Things will get better! Hang in there.
ReplyDeleteyour flowers are beautiful! I wish I had some here!
ReplyDeleteI hope you will find a Dr you can trust soon...is physical therapy not in the plan?...
I am with Caroline- will you do Physical Therapy? Or maybe you are already. Hope you are having a good end of summer.
ReplyDeleteThat doctor sounds very scary and even dangerous. Hang in there, this will pass. I love sunflowers! They are my son's favorite flowers. Love the guests as well :)
ReplyDeleteOh darnit, I was reading that what the doctor said and my brain was saying, "HOORAY!!!!", then you gave us the bad news about the swim and yeah, the doc doesn't sound like he's all together there. I know a few of those doctors myself. Hopefully someone else will have the answers for you .. in the meantime, take lots more pictures to share with us - LOVE the sunflowers! :)
