Bad Times

Bad Times. I have taken a break from blogging because I am not in good spirit for all the troubles happened. Please forgive me if I haven't commented your posts. I am off since the 4th of July because of the vertebra L3 fracture. It's hard to heal. On sept. 9th, the day after I ran for the first time on the treadmill (slow 15 minutes), while bowing to take the bread in a supermarket, I felt a terrible pain inside my left hip. It is a very deep strain impossible to treat with the physiotherapy: only strong doses of anti-inflammatories. It happened because my back is too weak after 2 months with the brace. At the moment it is also painful to walk and I cannot say when I will be able to do some activity again. This is the last time that I tell my troubles because it has become a boring topic; the same topic since early June! The next posts will be about everything but not injures and injury updates.

Welcome Guests. The hospitality in my garden is famous all over the world. Here are 3 welcome guests who came to visit my family these last days:

Enjoy the last summer day and run strong my friends!!!

  1. Love your guests! Here in South Africa summer is just starting - beautiful, fragrant blossoms everywhere! [A lot more beautiful than our rugby team's performance lately... ;) ]. Hang in there!

  2. Every time I open your blog I always hope to find good news about your injury.
Hold on and do not let go!!!
I fight for a year with my right knee, there are times mentally positive and some not, of course writing and reading various blogs helps!
    Hello soon BK.

PS: I'm ready for October 3 arthroscopy and therefore I hope to return to racing soon.

  5. We've all been there with the injury things--I know how it feels--my blog has been *very* boring since February. But I'm back and you will be, too--just be easy on yourself, heal and have faith that you will be strong again.

I do like the photos of your garden guests!

  6. God speed! I'll keep you in my prayers for a full recovery. I like that you are recognizing some of life's pleasures, without the running. Keep enjoying your garden guests and keep looking up!

  7. Your guests are adorable!

I was just thinking of you this morning and wondering how things were going. Courage, my friend - these bad times will pass - I know it is very hard in the meantime to be so thoroughly deprived of exercise!

  8. What? Oh, so frustrating! :( I know you don't want to dwell on your injuries and sad things, but please know that your friends care and are interested in how you're doing, even if "how you're doing" isn't great.

Such cool pictures of your guests. We got up close and personal with some bats in last month's adventure race. They weren't very happy about all the company they were getting in their cave, and we weren't thrilled to be in the way of their exit...but we all managed to get along. :)

  10. So sorry about the injury! No problem that you aren't commenting on blogs. Who wants to read about others exercise when one can't?

  11. I'm so sorry for the back problems - NO FUN! I'm having some issues with my foot (yes, again - but it's the other foot). Definitely keep up updated on the progress and I'll enjoy all your posts :).

  13. I can't blame you for being in low spirits. It's not fun to be constantly in pain or to have another injury even before the last has healed properly.

Your garden visitors make life interesting. We generally only get birds but occasionally there's a possum or a snake - and a snake really makes life interesting.

  18. Stefano~ don't stop writing about your injury...we want to hear how you are doing and progressing. I am so sorry that it just keeps lingering...so frustrating and I understand how defeated you must feel. The body does heal itself, but as I have learned...in it's OWN time and way! We are all thinking about you and hoping that those amazing visitors of yours brought some smiles to your face ;) They did for me!!

    Feel Better...Stay Strong!

    A presto!
