Rugby. One week after the fantastic victory against France in the 6 Nations, Italy was badly defeated 10-34 at Edinburgh by a brave Scotland. Our team must learn to be more practical and less conceited. Next match Italy-Wales at Rome on Feb. 23rd and I will be there with my son.
Injured again. This is a never ending story. I am totally off since last saturday when I felt a terrible pain during an 8 km. run. Now I have a painful sciatica due to the inflammation of the pyriform muscle. The first cure is 10 days off and after only swim. Running? Who knows. Bad situation!
Crazy Photo. What do you think of this situation? I took this photo while walking in Rome.
HAPPY ST. VALENTINE DAY

bel trucchetto davvero... chissà se ne conoscono uno per la tua sciatica!? ;)
ReplyDeletenuota stè, non c'è altro da fare....
Small steps my friend. Nevertheless, you are running again. Takes time ans patience to work the kinks out. I'm doing it myself.
ReplyDeleteNo more injuries, aches or pains! Rest up and do some proper stretching to make the sciatica go away. That pic is crazy!
ReplyDeleteI've been dealing with what I think is piriformis related pain (though I haven't actually been to a dr to look into it). It gets bad after 9 or so miles, to the point where even my walking gait is affected, but it isn't too debilitating during shorter runs. Still, I know it's stupid not to get it checked out bc it could be ANYTHING. Glad to hear you were running again, but not to hear about you being sidelined. Hang in there, my friend!
ReplyDeleteI've had this! It is the worst! Hopefully ten days lets the inflammation go down!
ReplyDeleteSciatica pain is extremely unpleasant! Condolences - and happy Valentine's....
ReplyDeleteI don't know what would be more painful to you - Italy's loss to Scotland or not being able to run again. I suspect it's probably that you can't run. You've had terrible luck with your running lately.
ReplyDeleteAijaijai - so sorry to hear about the sciatic pain! You must be soooo frustrated by now - so sorry to hear.
ReplyDeleteGood luck for your team against Wales!
Not what I wanted to read on your blog! I'm so sorry to hear you are sidelined again. Scotland seems strong this year, but it is still early days. That photo is really crazy! Take care and have a good weekend!
ReplyDeleteoh no...not another injury! I know how you feel...broken ankle, then stress fracture, now painful foot but I refuse to give in and you will be back too.
ReplyDeleteeek, sciatica is not fun at all! will cross my fingers it goes away quickly.
ReplyDeleteand... did you really take that photo? as in you saw that in real life? how on earth did they do that?
I had piriformis syndrome about a year ago and it is unpleasant, hopefully stretching and rest will get it to clear up very soon.
ReplyDeleteMan, you have some bad luck this past year. I'm sorry you have another injury.
ReplyDeleteFun that you are going to Bruce too this Summer, we are too, he's giving a concert in Holland in June and we have tickets.
We also have tickets for Mark Knofler in May :)
I have trouble with my piriformis at times. I went to a chiropractor who did ART. And told me stretches. If I DO the stretches I can keep it away usually.
ReplyDeleteI really hate sciatica pain...ugh! So sorry my friend that you are hurting...healing thoughts coming your way...blessings buddy! that is a wild picture.

That's a tough pain to handle. I know all too well. I think you and I have reached the point where we have more rest than run days a year. What does that say about us??????
ReplyDeleteWow! Great magic trick.
ReplyDeleteGo Italy!
At least with piriformis syndrome there's lots of info, Youtube videos etc available on the net. Good luck with it.
That's great that you've been able to run again, but sorry to hear about the nerve pain. I hope you heal quickly!
