Spring

Spring. At last it’s spring and the weather is good to run. Here you can see the lemon tree in my garden:

This is also the period for the best races but unfortunately I cannot wear anymore a (competitive) bib. I am thinking about some no-competitive running race and, in July, a 2500 meters swimming (open sea) in Piombino (this is a photo of the city that i took last year after a work meeting):

Training is going well considering my permanent injury. I keep on following the program swimming-running-swimming-rest. At the moment swimming is 2000 meters and running a little bit more than 7 km. My idea is to improve 1-2 km every month with the maximum target of 14 km; about the pace I am not in hurry because I have learned to be patient.

  3. Happy Easter!

It looks like we're finally getting spring weather, but only after a foot of snow on Sunday! Crazy.

Your training sounds like its going well, and if you have to swim what a beautiful place to do it! Love your pictures.

  4. I'm sitting here in a boring room
    It's just another
    Rainy sunday afternoon
    I'm wasting my time
    I got nothing to do
    I'm hanging around
    I'm waiting for you
But nothing ever happens - and I wonder

    tieni duro.... ;))

  6. Happy Easter! I wish I could have a lemon tree, but our summer is too short - only apples for me.

  8. That is a beautiful city where you will swim. I can't wait to hear more about your swimming race. Long distance swimming fascinates me.

  12. Happy Easter! I love the lemons. And though I know it's not what you are used to, I think your training is probably getting you very fit.

I have a nice story for you. My husband was grocery shopping last weekend and chose some garlic. This older lady next to him shook her head at him and handed him a different clove of garlic, telling him it was much better. "I know," she said, "because I am from Rome." So my husband took the garlic she recommended. He met her again in the olive oil aisle--she told him which brands were best. And when he got home, we tried the garlic and the olive oil and agreed she was right.

  15. please send some italian sun to Normandy !!! it's great to see you will be sea-swimming - all you need is a bike, then the run and you are a triathlete. I'm sure cycling would be great for your injury ? all the best

  16. My Easter was good thanks Stefano. You have beautiful lemons! That sea looks perfect for an open-water swim. Good that you're patient with the running - I'm sure it'll come around eventually so you can wear a bib again - even if for 'fun'.

  17. Hi Stefano! I hope your Easter was good. Our autumn has arrived as well although it is still warm during the day. I still run with short sleeves and pants in the mornings so nothing serious yet. I'm glad to see your training is going well. Your swimming is very strong. Take care!
