June

June 2013The best news: my daughter’s wedding, she got married on the 1st of June and now is back after the honeymoon through the USA. On the training side this was not a good month. I ran only twice because of a deep pain along the tendon of my left leg and inside the knee; between the first and the second workout ran 20 days. Now I am running again but careful, slow and for short distances, however I feel a light pain again. Fortunately I recovered from the shoulder fracture and since the 10th of June I could come back to swim. The Stats are: running only 16 km – swimming 22.9 km. Indeed I am really tired to report only the stories of my injures!

June 2003, ten years ago. Here you can see my solitary run near the finishing line on a “heartbreak” hill at a local race. The organization was good but no professional so we didn’t get the official results and the finishing time.

Are you ready for the summer vacation?

  9. Beautiful photos of your daughter's wedding.

It's freezing here, so ready for summer. Enjoying watching winter sport though - Wallabies v Lions has been good. Go Wallabies!

  10. Your daughter looked beautiful! I'm glad you can swim again but it must be so frustrating to swim more km's than run. The rugby was good for SA with our best match against Samoa. Still not consistent enough though.

  13. Congratulations on your beautiful daughter's wedding!

I've still planned my vacation: Bologna and surrondings. Then Gaeta.

I'm afraid I can't run the Orbetello's short race: next Saturday I will be working and on Sunday I will go to Naples.

  14. What a beautiful couple. I totally understand you are a proud Dad.

So sorry your injuries are still troubeling you.

We usually have a vacation in June and go to Italy. But this year we have decided to stay home, we need the money for home improvement and a new car. Therefore we have our vacation planned in August when the weather hopefully is good here in Holland.

I'm so sorry to learn of your injuries. At least you are able to swim again, but I know that is not your first love.
