January

January 2014. Not a good month because the pain and one whole week off for the fall during a run. The numbers. Running 92.2 km (57.3 m) in 9 workouts and 1 race (see the photo with Sir Giorgio before the start); swimming 8600 meters in 5 workouts.

January 2006. This is the photo of a challenging race 22.6 km (14.1 m) long. The finishing time was 1:53:21 and I was 795 of 1417. The race was so tough that I and Sir Giorgio (on the right in the photo) got both an injury inside our knees. As you can see at that time we used to run again with clothes in cotton.

Have you had a good January?

  1. Wow both of you injured the same way? Crazy! Sorry January wasn't the greatest. My month was solid, although not a ton of miles. Our weather has been terrible, so lots of treadmill time.

  3. That looks like a nasty hill in that picture!

I think even with being hurt you still put in way more miles than I did in January. That said, it was a fun month. The weather has been super cold, but that hasn't really stopped us from having fun on the weekends.

  4. You're really racking up those swimming kilometres. I think I'd struggle even getting one kilometre done.

  5. Indeed, in 1985, my running shirts were all cotton :-) Your swimming km is amazing, 25 years ago I though I was good doing 1.6 km four times a week. Keep it going.

  6. I got 110 miles in January - the most in awhile. I am doing speed workouts again and enjoying running. When it doesn't have biking to compete with I like it! I think you did well with your injury. Boo to cotton!

  7. What a difference in clothes in the years but you both don't look a day older. I love it that you are running friends for such a long time.

  8. I agree with Fran - you haven't aged one bit! January was awesome for me: Not mileage-wise, but I got the green light to start running again!!

  9. Not another fall! 2014 fashions are much better than 2006.
A good January for me - slowly building up the fitness following injuries at the end of 2013. Onward and upward!

  10. Love the cotton tees! January was cold thus making the Naples Half Marathon difficult for me!
