November recap, rugby memories and one day in Rome

November 2014. The things go better, I have run 11 times and now I succeed in finishing 10 km in 60/61 minutes (my PB on the distance is 39:30 in 1990 when I was 34 y.o.). The longest workout was 11.5 km (7.14 m). I also swam 10 times and I keep on following the corse of postural exercises (back school - twice a week). Stats: running 109.4 km (68 m - 10 workouts), swimming 13.500 meters (10) and walking 9,9 km (2).

November 2009. After the 2 surgeries for the broken femur, I made a 10 km test during an official half marathon. The finishing time, without pushing, was 51:20 (the B.K. is the 547).

Rugby memories. In november other 2 friends of the "old guard" passed away. This is a 1974 photo (against a french team, the B.K. is under the arrow. Nowadays that place is full of buildings, shops, an open market and the ground is in grass) and now 5 of these 15 players are playing rugby in heaven. Ciao Mario, ciao Francesco.

Roma. I spent a wonderful sunday in Rome with my wife. Here you can see Via Condotti, the main shopping street where the most important brands are, and Spanish Steps.

Are you ready for Christmas time?

I see that you have been running ...that is wonderful...I will go back in the post to read more about how you got there :) Christmas ...well my house is decorated now and my children are happy to see the tree is ready for Santa...:) shopping is almost done also! For running, I will not give up...I am reduced to power walking for now...the knee injury is back because I did not do proper maintenance with PT and reduced the mileage too much I think...so back to square one with that

Glad to hear running and swimming is going well, you will get there, be patient.

I am not ready for Christmas yet, I have to start thinking about the menu and we probably get our tree this coming weekend.

  7. I am so happy that your running is coming along so well! Sorry about your rugby friends. Life moves on and we have to make the best of what we have to deal with. Our rugby is not in great shape at the moment. I think the professional game is not the same or as good as the amateur game used to be.

  11. Nov.turned out to be a good training month for you. Even if the runs aren't the speed you are used to you are still running! I hope you continue to feel better. I love seeing all your pictures, since i have never traveled to Italy. It's sad to lose friends, we are at that age, I just try to enjoy everyday :)

  15. So glad to know that you are running better and are planning to run the "Liberty Christmas Run" on December 21st. As you know, I do not run it. I hope I'll have enough motivation in january as I'll run a 5k race with you in Rome. Last year we enjoyed the same running event although the organization wasn't so good and the weather was rainy.

  16. Still in a panic about Christmas Stefano!
The BK from 2009 is running well - and the BK from late 2014 is getting back there, so keep it up! My 10k PB was also run at 34 - never faster, but still enjoying exercise and the company of like-minded people.
All the best for 2015 - Go the Wallabies!
