Edinburgh Parkrun

Prologue. Last week I went to Edinburgh with my son to see the rugby match Scotland – Italia and with the opportunity to run the Parkrun and to visit again the city and the Rosslyn Chapel.

Parkrun 5 km. A wonderful flat path near the sea inside a green park full of  trees, daffodils and birds. 531 runners at the start. My son, without a specific training, was 439° with a finishing time of 29:28. I was 275° with a finishing time of 25:10, I ran with a regular pace enjoying the atmosphere and the scenery. It was a beautiful morning of sport in good company.

Rugby. In the afternoon we went to Murrayfield to see the rugby match and Italy won 22 – 19!!!!!

Have a good week-end ..... spring is coming!!!

  2. Huge congrats on such a great race! Glad to hear you have reached a 5 min./k average pace.
Your son was great too, considering he wasn't trained.
It's easy to see that the scenery along the running track was beautiful. Wonderful pictures of Edinburgh and its landmarks. Absolutely stunning!

With regards to your last comment, that I've just read, I completely agree with you. We might run a race on Sunday, March 29th. If we were to run a race in Viterbo and surroundings, we would have a port-race meal. It might be the same meal as you can see in my last post :)

    Have a nice weekend

  4. I would be hard-pressed to run a 25:10 5k right now, even with all my "training". Good job to you, and to your son also - that is fantastic.

Your pictures always cheer me up - such cool places you get to visit. I'm sure the rugby match was pretty cool, so glad you got to share it with your son!

    Run strong, my friend!

  7. Great run (and win by Italy!) - middle of the field, and 5-minute ks is very respectable. Glad you were running well and enjoying the friendliness of the Parkrun :)
